Because it releases fine mist instead of heavy stream, aim isn’t as crucial. You just have to point it in the general direction of the attacker’s face to hit your target.

Self-defense spray is technically legal in all 50 states, as long as you use it for self-defense and not on a peace officer or during commission of a crime.
Many states do have restrictions on the bottle type, the amount of liquid and the ingredients used. But because our “canister” size is only 0.07 ounces and contains 0.03% capsaicinoids/oleoresin capsicum, we are able to offer our spray for sale in most states, with the following limitations:
Must be over 18 to purchase in AK, CA, DE, HI, IL, MI, NV, NJ, NY, RI, WA and DC
Cannot be purchased by a felon in CA, NV, NJ, NY, NC, and WI
Must buy from a licensed seller or obtain registration in HA, MA NY, or DC
Since i-save-me is not — at the moment — a licensed seller or registering agent, we unfortunately cannot sell self-defense spray to people living in HA, MA, NY, or DC
